HI, I’M LARA

Born in the Netherlands to an American father and Dutch mother, I moved to France at a very young age. I studied 2D animation at Bellecour art school in Lyon, a big city in the southeast of France. Shortly after my studies, I moved to Curaçao where I decided to fully pursue and grow my artistic career.

ABOUT MY WORK :

My artistic focus is on portraits, but I also have a deep passion for abstract art and enjoy exploring the intersection of these styles.

Through my personal interests in psychology and personal development, I often incorporate these themes into my work. I especially enjoy capturing subtle emotions, making children a favorite subject for my portraits. Their authentic expressions are a source of inspiration.

Expressing myself freely in abstract art allows me to connect with my intuition and leave behind the mental restrictions of figurative styles. This exploration of the emotional and spiritual realms defines my personal style.

A melange of tangible and intangible, a dance between what we see and can’t see, letting myself be guided by all dimensions life has to offer, and I hope I can bring a little piece of that to you through my work.
